The Houston Rockets invade the Footprint Center to do battle with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in a slump as they’ve lost nine of their past 10 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a five-game slide after getting routed by the Jazz in a 135-101 road loss on Monday. Kenyon Martin Jr. led the team in scoring with 16 points on six of nine shooting off the bench, Jae’Sean Tate and Eric Gordon each scored 14 points while Christian Wood chipped in with 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Rockets shot just 42 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled with the size of the Jazz and never looked in the contest after trailing by 78-53 going into halftime. Kevin Porter Jr. finished with just eight points on two of nine shooting while Garrison Matthews scored just seven points off the bench.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been on fire as they’ve won 17 of their past 18 games overall and they will be looking to build on their current six-game win streak after sneaking past the Clippers in a 103-96 home win last night. Devin Booker led the team with 26 points on 11 of 19 shooting, Mikal Bridges added 19 points while Chris Paul tallied 17 points with 14 assists. As a team, the Suns shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 25 from the 3-point line as they held the Clippers to just 21 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before pulling away late in the fourth quarter to keep the win streak alive.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record and 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Suns are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest.

Head to head, the over is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings in Phoenix and the Rockets are 4-9 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall.

Here we have the classic tale of two teams headed in opposite directions as the Rockets have lost five straight and nine of their last 10 games, while the Suns have won a ridiculous 17 of their past 18 games overall. The Suns were far from convincing in their narrow win over the Clippers last night, but the Suns are 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the Suns win big at home.
