The Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors meet Saturday in NBA Summer League action at the Chase Center.

The Sacramento Kings summer league roster features 12 rookies, including fourth overall pick Keegan Murray out of Iowa. The Kings will also give second-year player Neemias Queta some run after he played in 14 games last season. Elijah Brown is also on this Kings roster, and he happens to be the son of new head coach Mike Brown. What’s interesting about this Kings roster overall is there’s not only a handful of older and more experienced players, but a lot of these guys helped Sacramento win the Las Vegas Summer League last year. The Kings finished 5-0 during that stretch. MVP Louis King didn’t return, but Matt Coleman and Ade Murkey have a chance to build on summer league success.

The Golden State Warriors roster features 15 rookies, including this year’s first round pick in Patrick Baldwin Jr. out of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This Warriors roster is headlined however by Jonathan Kuminga, who played in 70 games last season for the champs, and Moses Moody, who started in 11 games last year. The most intriguing player on this Warriors roster is James Wiseman, who was the second overall pick in the 2020 draft, but missed all of last year due to a setback with a torn meniscus. If Wiseman can prove he can return to form, he’s a massive addition to a Warriors team that just won the title a few weeks ago. Other players include Ryan Rollins, who was a first-team All-Mac selection last year for Toledo, two-time NEC Player of the Year in Alex Morales and a first-team All-SEC selection in JD Notae.

The Sacramento Kings are probably getting the benefit of the doubt here because of what they did in last yeas summer league and the fact they have a handful of those players back. However, this is a home game for the Warriors and their roster has 3 guys with legit NBA experience. Assuming James Wiseman is healthy and eager to prove he’s back to being a starting caliber big, he could end up being the best performer in these few summer league games. This line is a bit confusing if we’re being honest. Give me the home dog.
