The Houston Rockets invade the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their last seven games overall and they will be looking to bounce back here after getting thrashed by the Celtics in a 126-102 road loss on Tuesday. Jalen Green led the team with 28 points on 11 of 22 shooting, Kevin Porter Jr. added 22 points with nine assists while Kenyon Martin Jr. chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Rockets shot just 40 percent from the field and 14 of 45 from the 3-point line as they did a decent job of staying within striking distance until the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 34-21 to lose by a big margin in the end.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be eager to build on their four-game win streak after outlasting the Knicks in a thrilling 126-121 overtime win on Tuesday. Luka Doncic led the team with a ridiculous triple-double of 60 points with 21 rebounds and 10 assists on 21 of 31 shooting, Spencer Dinwiddie added 25 points with five assists while Christian Wood chipped in with 19 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Mavericks shot 48 percent from the field and 13 of 46 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter, before they pulled away in overtime to finish with the impressive victory.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record. The Mavericks are 5-11-2 ATS in their last 18 home games, 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 9-20-2 ATS in their last 31 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Dallas and the Rockets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Dallas.

The Rockets could be shorthanded again as Eric Gordon and Jae’Sean Tate are both questionable, while the Mavericks are still missing Dorian Finney-Smith and they have Reggie Bullock listed as questionable. The Mavericks are starting to hit their stride now and Doncic will be full of confidence after dropping 60 points in a monster triple double on Tuesday. The line is quite hefty for this one, so while I like the Mavericks to get the win at home, I think the Rockets can hang around just long enough to get the backdoor cover.
