The battle for LA resumes as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers collide at the Arena on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in a world of hurt as they’ve lost eight of their first 10 games overall and they will be looking to put an end to a three-game skid after getting blown out by the Jazz in a 139-116 road loss on Monday. Anthony Davis led the way with 29 points on 11 of 18 shooting, Russell Westbrook tallied 22 points with five assists off the bench while Kendrick Nunn chipped in with 18 points on seven of 11 shooting. As a team, the Lakers shot 48 percent from the field and nine of 24 from the 3-point line, but their problems were on the defensive end as they leaked 42 points in the first quarter, before they got blown off the floor by 63-45 in the second half.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their past five games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after sneaking past the red-hot Cavaliers in a 119-117 home win on Monday. Paul George led the way with 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting, Marcus Morris added 20 points, Reggie Jackson scored 18 points with seven assists while Norman Powell chipped in with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 50 percent from the field and 17 of 38 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game and trailed by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter, before they closed the game on a ferocious 21-6 run to escape with the unlikely victory.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record, 0-4 ATS in their last four road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 11-5-2 in the last 18 meetings in Los Angeles and the Lakers are 17-36 ATS in the last 53 meetings overall.

The Lakers could be shorthanded once again as Anthony Davis and Lonnie Walker are both listed as questionable, while the Clippers are at full strength except for Kawhi Leonard who is still out. There is nothing the Lakers would like more than to beat the Clippers to snap out of their funk, but they’ve been one of the coldest teams in the league and just got dismantled by the new-look Jazz in their last outing. The Lakers are only 17-36 ATS in the last 53 meetings overall and I think that trend continues as the Clippers get the win and cover here.
