The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Arena on Friday night.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games, but they will be hoping for a better performance in this one after getting embarrassed by the Jazz in a 137-101 road loss on Wednesday. Jaylen Hoard led the team with 23 points on eight of 17 shooting, Isaiah Roby and Jeramiah Robinson-Earl each scored 18 points while Lindy Waters chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Thunder shot just 41 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line as they leaked 41 points in the first quarter and got outpaced the rest of the way to lose big against a spirited Jazz team.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 12 of their last 14 games and they will be hoping to put an end to an eight-game slide after getting routed by the Warriors in a 128-112 road loss last night. Talen Horton-Tucker led the team with a career-high 40 points on 15 of 28 shooting, Malik Monk added 24 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Dwight Howard chipped in with 16 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Lakers shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start to lead for most of the first half, only to get blown out in the fourth quarter where the Warriors exploded for 37 points to pull away in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Thunder are 27-9 ATS in their last 36 road games, 25-10-1 ATS in their last 36 games against a team with a losing record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Lakers are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record, 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on zero days’ rest and 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team below .400.

Head to head, the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall, the Thunder are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Thunder are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles.

The Thunder were in decent form before they ran into the Jazz on Wednesday, but now they have a chance to bounce back against an ice-cold Lakers team who have officially given up on the season. The Thunder are 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles and also 27-9 ATS in their last 36 road games, so I’m taking the Thunder with the points in this spot.
