The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Sacramento Kings at the Crypto.com Arena on Friday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in great form as they’ve won four of their past six games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Cavaliers in a 127-120 win on Wednesday. Domantas Sabonis led the way with 21 points and six assists, Harrison Barnes added 20 points with nine rebounds and three assists while Trey Lyles chipped in with 16 points off the bench. As a team, the Kings shot 52 percent from the field and 17 of 39 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Cavaliers early and poured on 69 points in the first half, before going on another run in the fourth quarter to pull off the upset. The Kings had a total of seven players finish in double figures in scoring.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a world of hurt as they’ve lost nine of their first 11 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a four-game slide after getting thrashed by the Clippers in a 114-101 loss on Wednesday. LeBron James led the team with 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Anthony Davis added 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists while Russell Westbrook chipped in with 14 points and nine assists off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line as they dominated the second quarter by 31-16 to cut an early 17-point deficit to just two points, only to get blown out in the second half where their offense struggled.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team below .400 and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Lakers are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record, 1-8 ATS in their last nine games following a loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Los Angeles and the Kings are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles.
The Lakers could be shorthanded here as LeBron James is currently listed as out while Lonnie Walker is listed as questionable while the Kings are coming into this one at full strength. The Lakers are desperate for any win they can get, but they just haven’t been able to build any momentum and I think that trend continues here as the young Kings take advantage. The Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and I’m backing them to get the win and cover here.
