The Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers collide at the Arena on Friday night.

The Utah Jazz have been in great shape as they’ve won six of their first nine games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short to the Mavericks in a 103-100 road loss on Wednesday. Jordan Clarkson led the way with 22 points and eight assists, Collin Sexton added 19 points off the bench while Jarred Vanderbilt chipped in with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Jazz shot 46 percent from the field and 10 of 30 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to regain the lead after squandering a 15-point lead, only to see the Mavericks run them down in the fourth quarter where they just couldn’t find their offense.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers really struggled with five straight losses to start the season, but they are now gunning for a third straight victory after outlasting the Pelicans in a thrilling 120-117 overtime win on Wednesday. Lonnie Walker led the way with 28 points on nine of 17 shooting, Anthony Davis tallied 20 points, 16 rebounds and four assists, LeBron James racked up 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists while Russell Westbrook chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds and nine assists off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 36 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 16-point lead, before they regrouped and made up for it in overtime where they held the Pelicans to just six points to escape with the much-needed victory.

Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 7-18 ATS in their last 25 road games and 25-51-4 ATS in their last 80 games following a loss. The Lakers are 15-36 ATS in their last 51 games following a win and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Los Angeles, the Jazz are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Los Angeles and the Jazz are 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.

The Jazz have quietly been one of the surprise teams of the league and they would love to take down the Lakers are falling just short to the Mavericks on Wednesday. The Lakers will be feeling so much better after their second straight victory, but it came at a cost as Anthony Davis is listed as questionable with back soreness. The Lakers would love to keep their win streak alive, but I don’t like their chances if Davis isn’t able to suit up. With that being said, I’ll lean towards the Jazz to pull off the minor upset on the road in this spot.
