The Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers collide at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have been in great shape as they’ve won four of their past five games and they will be looking to stay hot after beating the 76ers in a 104-95 win on Thursday. Trae Young led the way with 26 points and seven assists, Clint Capela added 18 points with 20 rebounds while DeAndre Hunter chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 44 percent from the field and six of 26 from the 3-point line as they struggled early on and scored just 17 points in the second quarter, but they found their rhythm with 34 points in the third quarter to build a 20-point lead which proved to be more than enough in the end.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in a rut as they’ve lost three of their past four games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling to the Hawks on Thursday. Joel Embiid led the way with 26 points and 13 rebounds on nine of 18 shooting, Tyrese Maxey added 15 points and five assists while Tobias Harris chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the 76ers shot just 38 percent from the field and six of 30 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Hawks until the third quarter where they just went ice-cold to fall behind by 20 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 9-20 ATS in their last 29 road games, 9-19 ATS in their last 28 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The 76ers are 2-5 ATS in their last even home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on one days’ rest.
Head to head, the under is 8-0 in the last eight meetings overall and the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia.
The Hawks will again be without Jarrett Culver and Bogdan Bogdanovic, while the 76ers are still missing James Harden who is in a walking boot at the moment. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row, but even though I’m expecting a better game from the 76ers, I’ll stick with the Hawks to get the win once again behind a big game from Young.
