The Sacramento Kings play host to the Washington Wizards at the Golden 1 Center on Friday night.
The Washington Wizards have been ice-cold as they’ve lost 14 of their last 16 games and they will be hoping for a better performance after coming up short against the Jazz in a 120-112 road loss last night. Bradley Beal led the team with 30 points and five assists on 13 of 20 shooting, Kyle Kuzma added 21 points while Daniel Gafford chipped in with 13 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Wizards shot 56 percent from the field and seven of 21 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 39 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, but they couldn’t maintain that pace and got outscored by 60-46 in the second half to lose yet again.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in decent shape as they’ve won seven of their last 11 games and they will be eager to stay hot after routing the Lakers in a 134-120 home win on Wednesday. Kevin Huerter led the team with 26 points on nine of 14 shooting, Keegan Murray added 23 points, De’Aaron Fox scored 22 points with six assists while Harrison Barnes chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Kings shot 50 percent from the field and 17 of 47 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 41 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before pouring in another 40 points in the third quarter to push the lead out to 23 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 4-12-2 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The Kings are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games playing on one days rest.
Head to head, the under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings overall, the Wizards are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Wizards are 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine meetings in Sacramento.
The Wizards are again missing Kristaps Porzingis and Deni Avdija, while the Kings have listed Richaun Holmes are questionable for this one. The Wizards have been one of the worst teams in the league, but they are coming into this one with plenty of confidence following their upset win over the jazz last night, but it’s going to be tough to replicate that effort against this Kings team who have on a roll lately. The line is a couple points higher than I’d like, but the Wizards are only 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine meetings in Sacramento and I think that trend continues here as the Kings get the win and cover.
