The New Orleans Pelicans and the San Antonio Spurs duke it out at the AT&T Center on Wednesday night.

The New Orleans Pelicans have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the shorthanded Warriors in a dominant 128-83 win on Monday. Brandon Ingram led the team with 34 points on 12 of 19 shooting, Devonte Graham added 19 points off the bench while CJ McCollum chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pelicans shot 53 percent from the field and 15 of 42 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, outscoring the Warriors by 35-16 in the first quarter which allowed them to cruise the rest of the way. To be fair, the Warriors were seriously depleted as they rest almost all of their star players.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after getting thrashed by the Lakers in a 123-92 road loss on Sunday. Devin Vassell led the team with 17 points on seven of 14 shooting, Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson each scored 12 points while Tre Jones chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 39 percent from the field and seven of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a sluggish start and were never a threat after falling behind by 18 points at halftime and by as many as 34 points in the second half.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pelicans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a win, 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Spurs are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games, 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings overall and the Pelicans are 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.

The Pelicans have listed Trey Murphy as questionable for this one, while the Spurs are keeping an eye on Josh Richardson and Jakob Poeltl who are both questionable. The Pelicans are clearly the team in better form in this matchup and they barely broke a sweat in their blowout win over the depleted Warriors on Monday. The betting trends favor the Spurs, but the line just isn’t long enough, so I’ll stick with the Pelicans to stay hot with another win and cover here.
