The Washington Wizards and the Dallas Mavericks collide at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday night.

The Washington Wizards have been in decent shape as they’ve won three of their past five games and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after routing the Magic in a 138-118 home win on Saturday. Rui Hachimura led the team in scoring with 30 points on 13 of 22 shooting off the bench, Kyle Kuzma added 25 points with 10 rebounds and six assists while Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal scored 17 points apiece. As a team, the Wizards shot 53 percent from the field and 18 of 34 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to jump out to an early double-digit lead which only grew as the game wore on. With the game decided early, the Wizards were able to rest most of their starters early, but the win came at a cost as Porzingis went down with a left ankle sprain.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Clippers in a 112-98 home loss on Sunday. Luka Doncic led the team with 29 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 22 points with eight rebounds and two blocks while Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in with 21 points and five assists. As a team, the Mavericks shot 43 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control after pouring in 34 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, but they couldn’t find their offense from that point, especially in the fourth quarter where they managed just 19 points to allow the Clippers to pull away late.

Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 games following a win of more than 10 points and 14-36-1 ATS in their last 51 games playing on two days rest. The Mavericks are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a losing record, 19-8 ATS in their last 27 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Wizards are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Wizards come into this meeting with plenty of momentum after blowing past the Magic in a big win on Saturday, but they will be without Rui Hachimura who has been traded since that win. The Mavericks could really do with a win to get their season back on track as they’ve been stuck in a rut, but the Wizards have already beaten the Mavericks earlier in the season and I think they can pull off the upset once again.
