The Portland Trail Blazers invade the Ball Arena to take on the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers have been in a rut as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall, but they will be gunning for a third straight victory after routing the Mavericks in a 140-123 win on Sunday. Damian Lillard led the team with 40 points and six assists on 10 of 17 shooting, while Jerami Grant, Jusuf Nurkic and Anfernee Simons each scored 20 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 50 percent from the field and 17 of 44 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates and built a seven-point lead going into halftime, before they broke loose with 42 points in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout in the end.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 16 of their last 19 games overall and they will be aiming for a seventh straight victory after sneaking past the Magic in a thrilling 119-116 home win on Sunday. Aaron Gordon led the team with 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Jamal Murray added 18 points with seven assists while Nikola Jokic tallied a triple-double of 17 points with 10 rebounds and 14 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 53 percent from the field and 13 of 39 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first half to build a 15-point lead, but the Magic rallied back and looked set to force overtime before Jokic drained the game-winning 3-pointer to carry the team over the line.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 0-7 ATS in their last seven road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Nuggets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the over is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings overall and the Trail Blazers are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Denver.

The Trail Blazers will be eager to build some momentum after blowing past the shorthanded Mavericks on Sunday, but they’ve been poor away from home as they are 0-7 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Denver. The Trail Blazers looked good in their last outing, but it’s hard to get too excited about beating a Mavericks team missing Luka Doncic, so I’ll stick with the more consistent Nuggets to stay hot with another win and cover here.
