The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the Denver Nuggets at the Target Center on Sunday night.

The Denver Nuggets have been in great form as they’ve won 13 of their last 16 games overall and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after making light work of the Hawks in a 128-108 win last night. Jamal Murray led the team with 41 points and seven assists, Michael Porter Jr. added 23 points while Nikola Jokic tallied a triple-double of 14 points with 18 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 38 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start, pouring in 70 points in the first half to take a double-digit lead which ballooned to 23 points in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in great form as they’ve won 12 of their last 18 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up short against the young Magic in a 127-120 loss on Friday. D’Angelo Russell led the team with 29 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Anthony Edwards added 19 points with five assists while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 44 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 34 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, but they went cold and couldn’t keep pace with the Magic who raced ahead and led by as many as 22 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record and 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games overall. The Timberwolves are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Nuggets are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Nuggets are 23-6-1 ATS in the last 30 meetings in Minnesota.

The Nuggets are shorthanded again as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jack White are both out, while the Timberwolves are missing Austin Rivers and they have Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert both as questionable. The Nuggets have been the benchmark of the Western Conference all season and they were dominant in their win over the Hawks last night, so I’m happy to take them at the short line in this spot.
