The San Antonio Spurs play host to the Washington Wizards at the AT&T Center on Monday night.

The Washington Wizards have been heating up lately and they will be eager to build on their current five-game win streak after beating the Pelicans in a 113-103 road win on Saturday. Daniel Gafford led the team with 21 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks, Bradley Beal added 16 points with five assists wihle Deni Avdija chipped in with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and poured in 59 points in the first half to take the early lead, before they went on another run in the third quarter to push the lead out to 16 points which proved to be more than enough cushion against the shorthanded Pelicans.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in poor form as they’ve lost 10 of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to put a halt to a five-game slide after falling short against the Suns in a 128-118 overtime home loss on Saturday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 34 points and five assists on 15 of 26 shooting, Jeremy Sochan added 30 points with eight rebounds and five assists while Keita Bates-Diop chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 29 from the 3-point line as they rallied all the way back from a 13-point deficit to extend the game, only to go cold in overtime where they scored just eight points to allow the Suns off the hook.

Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. The Spurs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games, 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.

Head to head, the over is 8-1 in the last nine meetings overall, the Wizards are 4-17-1 ATS in the last 22 meetings in San Antonio and the Wizards are 7-24 ATS in the last 31 meetings overall.

The Wizards have ruled out Anthony Gill, while the Spurs are still missing Devin Vassell and they are keeping an eye on Romeo Langford who is questionable for this one. The Wizards are coming into this meeting with plenty of momentum after winning their last five games, so it’s no surprise that they’re favorites against this slumping Spurs team who can’t buy a win these days. The betting trends favor the Spurs in this matchup, but I’m sticking with the more reliable Wizards who have been flying under the radar lately.
