The Toronto Raptors will be aiming for a second straight victory after sneaking past the Timberwolves in a 97-94 home win on Wednesday. Dennis Schroder led the team with 22 points and seven assists, OG Anunoby added 20 points with six rebounds and three blocks while Scottie Barnes tallied 17 points with eight rebounds, five assists and five blocks. As a team, the Raptors shot just 40 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 10-point lead in the third quarter, before they held the Timberwolves to just 20 points in the fourth quarter to escape with the gritty win.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls will be looking to bounce back in this one after getting thrashed by the Thunder in a 124-104 loss on Wednesday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 20 points, Zach LaVine added 16 points, while Coby White chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Bulls shot just 41 percent from the field and 12 of 42 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start with 35 points in the first quarter, only to get outpaced the rest of the way as they allowed the Thunder to shoot over 54 percent from the field for the game. LaVine had a night to forget as he shot just four of 16, while White shot just four of 14 from the field.

The Bulls will surely come out with a better effort after getting embarrassed by the Thunder in their season opener, but I’m still a little surprised that they’ve opened as favorites with how good the Raptors looked on Wednesday. Yes, the Raptors are on the road for this one, but Schroder already looks a solid fit for the team and they were able to deliver on the defensive end when the game tightened up, so I’m expecting more of the same here. Give me the Raptors to escape with the narrow win in this spot.
