The Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks collide in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday night.
The Golden State Warriors will be looking to complete the series sweep after taking down the Mavericks in a 109-100 road win in Game 3 on Sunday. Stephen Curry led the team with 31 points and 11 assists, Andrew Wiggins added 27 points with 11 rebounds and three assists while Klay Thompson chipped in with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 32 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Mavericks in a tightly contested first half, before they opened the third quarter with a 19-9 run to pull away and earn the important win. Curry drained five 3-pointers, Thompson struggled as he shot just six of 18 from the field, while Jordan Poole had a quiet game of just 10 points on two of four shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks are now looking to stave off elimination after coming up short against the Warriors in a tough loss on Sunday. Luka Doncic led the team with 40 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, Spencer Dinwiddie added 26 points off the bench while Jalen Brunson chipped in with 20 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot just 40 percent from the field and 13 of 45 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Warriors in the first half, before they faded away in the second half where they leaked 61 points. Reggie Bullock had a forgettable night as he finished scoreless on zero of 10 shooting from the field while Maxi Kleber finished scoreless on zero of five shooting off the bench.
Looking at the betting trends, the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 Conference Finals games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four Conference Finals games and 38-18 ATS in their last 56 games following a loss.
Head to head, the over is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings overall and the over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Dallas.
The Warriors are now just one win away from advancing to the NBA Finals after taking down the Mavericks in a crucial win in Game 3 thanks to big games from Curry and Wiggins. The Mavericks were always outsiders in this matchup, especially after dropping the first two games of the series, but now they will be looking to avoid the sweep after coming up short for the third straight game. Doncic has totalled 82 points in the last two games, but he’s just not getting enough support from his teammates, with Brunson the only consistent contributor in this series. The Mavericks will be eager to come out strong and avoid the sweep in front of their home crowd, but even though I have Doncic putting up at least 35 points, I don’t think he’ll get enough support from the role players once again, so I’ll stick with the Warriors getting the job done with another win and cover behind a big game from Curry.
