Dallas Mavericks vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction 1-5-24 NBA Picks

The Portland Trail Blazers and the Dallas Mavericks duke it out at the American Airlines Center on Friday night. Here’s a Trail Blazers vs Mavericks Prediction.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost 12 of their last 15 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting humbled by the Mavericks in a 126-97 road defeat on Wednesday. Shaedon Sharpe led the team with 16 points off the bench, Anfernee Simons added 15 points while Jerami Grant chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 39 percent from the field and 13 of 40 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start and were never in the contest after getting outscored by 78-47 in a nightmare of a first half.

Dallas Mavericks

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their past seven games and they will be eager to build some momentum after making light work of the Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 41 points and five assists on 13 of 21 shooting, Kyrie Irving added 29 points with nine rebounds and five assists while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Mavericks shot 50 percent from the field and 13 of 30 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Trail Blazers from the start and put the game to bed early after exploding for 78 points in the first half.

Trail Blazers vs Mavericks Prediction

The Trail Blazers are still shorthanded with Jabari Walker, Moses Brown and Deandre Ayton all out, while the Mavericks are still without Dante Exum and Maxi Kleber.  It’s usually tough to beat the same team twice in a row, but the the Trail Blazers are just so banged up at the moment and I just didn’t see anything from them to suggest that we’re going to see a different result in this game after they looked toothless on Wednesday. The Mavericks aren’t at their best at the moment, but with Doncic playing the way he has been, they have more than enough firepower to get the job done at home.
