The San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks duke it out at the American Airlines Center on Sunday.
The San Antonio Spurs have been in terrible form as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting routed by the Timberwolves in a 151-131 loss on Saturday. Julian Champagne led the team with 24 points on eight of 16 shooting, Keita Bates-Diop added 22 points with five assists while Tre Jones racked up a triple-double of 21 points with 10 rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 52 percent from the field and 13 of 29 from the 3-point line as they allowed 45 points in the second quarter to fall behind by 12 points going into halftime and things only got worse in the third quarter where they fell behind by as many as 33 points at one stage.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to cap off their regular season on a high note after falling just short to the Bulls in a 115-112 loss on Friday. Luka Doncic, Markieff Morris and McKinley Wright each scored 13 points while Davis Bertans chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 45 percent from the field and 18 of 55 from the 3-point line as they poured in 38 points in the second quarter to build a 15-point lead, only to sit Doncic for the rest of the game and allow the Bulls to run them down.
Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 road games, 7-23 ATS in their last 30 games against a team with a losing record and 0-5 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest. The Mavericks are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games, 9-24-1 ATS in their last 34 games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

The Spurs will again be missing Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan and Khem Birch, while the Mavericks will be resting Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic and Josh Green. The offseason just can’t arrive soon enough for the Spurs who have been in terrible form after allowing 151 points to the Timberwolves in their last outing. The same thing can be said about the Mavericks who will surely view this season as a failure. This one is tough to pick, but the Spurs can surprise any team on a good day and I think they might just pull off the upset in this one.
