Denver Nuggets vs Dallas Mavericks Prediction 12-18-23 NBA Picks

The Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets duke it out at the Ball Arena on Monday night. Here’s a Mavericks vs Nuggets prediction.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last six games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after routing the Trail Blazers in a 131-120 road win on Saturday. Luka Doncic led the team with a triple-double of 40 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 25 points off the bench while Derrick Jones Jr and Dante Exum scored 18 points each. As a team, the Mavericks shot 49 percent from the field and 16 of 47 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest with a pivotal 18-4 run in the second quarter which kept them in front the rest of the way.

Denver Nuggets

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in decent form as they’ve won seven of their last 11 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after having their three-game win streak halted by the Thunder in a heartbreaking 118-117 loss on Saturday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 24 points and 12 assists, Michael Porter Jr. added 20 points with 11 rebounds while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line as they got off to an early lead and looked to be in control when they led by 10 points midway through the fourth quarter, before they allowed the Thunder to rally back and steal the game in the final seconds thanks to a clutch game-winner from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Mavericks vs Nuggets prediction

The Mavericks are still shorthanded with Kyrie Irving, Maxi Kleber and Josh Green all out, while the Nuggets are keeping an eye on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who is questionable. The Mavericks have been able to keep winning games despite their growing list of injuries and it’s no surprise that it’s been Doncic leading the way.  The Nuggets have been solid all season, but they are coming into this one fresh off a tough loss to the Thunder in their last outing. The Nuggets have already beaten the Mavericks once this season by 125-114 back at the start of the season and I think we’re going to see a similar result as the Mavericks’ injuries will be too much to overcome against the Nuggets at the Ball Arena.
