Nikola Jokic led the team with 22 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists, Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr each scored 18 points while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in with 13 points and six assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 43 percent from the field and 10 of 40 from the 3-point line which was good enough to stay within striking distance in the first half, but the absence of Jamal Murray cost them in the second half where they managed just 45 points to allow the Suns to escape with the narrow win. The Nuggets just didn’t get enough support from their bench, who combined for just 15 points in this one.
