The San Antonio Spurs invade the Ball Arena to do battle with the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night.
San Antonio Spurs Betting Preview
The San Antonio Spurs have been on fire as they’ve won 27 of their last 29 games overall and they will be eager to build on their current 11-game win streak after blowing past the Clippers in a 118-99 road win on Thursday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists on nine of 13 shooting, Stephon Castle added 20 points with five assists while Dylan Harper chipped in with 19 points and five assists off the bench. As a team, the Spurs shot 53 percent from the field and 12 of 31 from the 3-point line as they dominated from the start and poured in 68 points in the first half to take a 24-point lead into halftime before they finished with a flurry after seeing their lead get cut to just seven points at one stage. Victor Wembenyama sat out the game but he isn’t currently listed on the injury report.
Denver Nuggets Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in great form as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games overall and they are now gunning for an eighth straight victory after routing the lowly Jazz in a 130-117 road win on Wednesday. Jamal Murray led the team with 37 points, five rebounds and five assists, Cameron Johnson added 19 points with nine rebounds and six assists, Christian Braun scored 18 points while NIkola Jokic tallied a triple-double of 15 points with 17 rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 48 percent from the field and 16 of 39 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 39 points in the first quarter to jump out to a double digit lead, but the game tightened up before the Nuggets went on a decisive 15-2 run in the fourth quarter to secure the comfortable road win in the end.
San Antonio v Denver Free Prediction
The Spurs have ruled out David Jones Garcia again but Victor Wembenyama should be back in action after he was rested on Thursday, while the Nuggets have ruled out Zeke Nnaji, Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones again. These teams have clashed twice this season with each game winning on the road and both games were decided by a combined eight points so we should be in for another close one here. The Spurs enter as the hottest team in the league right now, while the Nuggets have all their key players healthy and they are quietly playing some of their best basketball of the season. It’s no surprise to see the Spurs open as favorites in this one, but the Nuggets are tough to beat at home and I think they are good enough to pull off the minor upset at home.
