The Golden State Warriors play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chase Center on Saturday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers have lost six of their past eight games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after coming up short against the Trail Blazers in a 107-105 road loss on Wednesday. LeBron James led the team with 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Anthony Davis added 17 points with seven rebounds, six assists and five blocks while Talen Horton-Tucker chipped in with 14 points and seven assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 55 percent from the field and 17 of 37 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Trail Blazers in a tight contest until late in the fourth quarter where the Trail Blazers went on a pivotal 8-2 run to snatch the game from them late.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in fine form as they’ve won 11 of their past 15 games overall, but they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after coming up short to the Knicks in a 116-114 home loss on Thursday. Stephen Curry led the team with 35 points and 10 assists, Jonathan Kuminga and Klay Thompson each scored 17 points while Andrew Wiggins chipped in with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 46 percent from the field and 15 of 45 from the 3-pointline as they poured in 34 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, only to get blown out in the third quarter by 31-20 to fall behind by 13 points which proved to be just enough in a close finish.
Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games against a team with a winning record and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games playing on two days’ rest. The Warriors are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight home games, 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a losing record and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Golden State and the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Golden State.
The Lakers could be really shorthanded in this one as Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony are all listed as questionable, while the Warriors will again be missing Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green. It’s hard to make an argument for the struggling Lakers at this stage and even more so when they have so many players under an injury cloud. With that being said, I’m sticking with the Warriors to take advantage and finish with the win and cover.
