As a team, the Lakers shot 57 percent from the field and 14 of 31 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 70 points in the first half, before they dominated the third quarter b 38-23 to run away with it despite playing without LeBron James who sat this one out.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in red-hot form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Jazz in a 140-137 road win on Thursday. Klay Thompson caught fire and drained seven 3-pointers to finish with 35 points off the bench, Draymond Green tallied 23 points with five assists and four steals, Andrew Wiggins added 19 points while Stephen Curry chipped in with 16 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 53 percent from the field and 20 of 42 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 48 points in the second quarter to build a 20-point lead, before they escaped with a narrow victory after the Jazz cut their lead to just one point with 41 seconds left on the clock. The Warriors will play against the Hornets and Nuggets after this game.

The Warriors have been playing some of their best basketball of the season despite an unconvincing win over the Jazz in their last game. The last time these two squads played, we were treated to a 145-144 double overtime win for the Lakers and I think we’re in for another close one.
