The Phoenix Suns pay a visit to the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Friday night.
The Phoenix Suns have been the talk of the league for a while now as they will be aiming to build on their current 18-game win streak after routing the Pistons in a 114-103 home win last night. Cameron Johnson and Cameron Payne led the team wit 19 points each, Mikal Bridges added 18 points, DeAndre Ayton scored 17 points with 12 rebounds while Chris Paul tallied 12 points with 12 assists. As a team, the Suns shot 54 percent from the field and 12 of 21 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and exploded for 69 points in the first half to lead by as many as 18 points, before making another push in the fourth quarter after the Pistons cut the lead to just five points. It was a real team effort as seven players finished in double figures in scoring in the absence of Devin Booker who remains out with a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in great shape as they’ve won 14 of their past 16 games, but they will be looking for revenge after having their seven-game win streak halted by the Suns in a 104-96 road loss on Tuesday. Jordan Poole led the team with 28 points on nine of 15 shooting, Otto Porter Jr. added 16 points off the bench while Andrew Wiggins chipped in with 10 points. As a team, the Warriors shot just 41 percent from the field and 14 of 40 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Suns in a close contest until the fourth quarter where they managed just 18 points to allow the Suns to pull away. Stephen Curry had one of his worst games of the season as he scored just 12 points on four of 21 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest, 51-24-1 ATS in their last 76 games against a team with a winning record, 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Warriors are 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 home games, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record and 21-5-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Golden State and the under is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Suns are coming into this game with all the momentum and they looked good in last night’s win over the Pistons, but the Warriors have been red-hot themselves and they will have revenge on their minds after falling just short to the Suns back on Tuesday. The Suns were able to keep a lid on Curry, but I just don’t see that happening here, not at the Chase Center. This should be a close one, but without Booker, I think the Suns fall just short in this spot.
