Houston Rockets vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction 12-20-23 NBA Picks

The Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets duke it out at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night. Here’s a Hawks vs Rockets Prediction.

Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to build some momentum here after sneaking past the lowly Pistons in a 130-124 home win on Monday. Trae Young led the way with 31 points and 15 assists, Saddiq Bey added 21 points, Dejounte Murray scored 20 points while De’Andre Hunter chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 54 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 38 points in the first quarter to take the early double digit lead and they pushed the lead out to 16 points before holding off a late charge from the Pistons.

Houston Rockets

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets look to have cooled off from their five-game win streak as they are now looking to avoid a third straight defeat after getting beaten by the Cavaliers in a 135-130 overtime road loss on Monday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 27 points, eight rebounds and 17 assists, Alperen Sengun added 24 points with eight rebounds and six assists while Dillon Brooks chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they missed out on a few chances to win the game in regulation, only to allow the Cavaliers to go open the overtime period with an 11-2 run in a disappointing finish.

Hawks vs Rockets Prediction

The Hawks are still shorthanded here with Bogdan Bogdanovic listed as questionable along with Jalen Johnson, while the Rockets are keeping an eye on Jae’Sean Tate who is questionable with an illness. The Hawks have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this season and they were far from convincing in their narrow win over the lowly Pistons on Monday, so I’m looking at the Rockets who were one of the hottest teams in the league before dropping their last two games. The Rockets have won 11 of their first 12 home games of the season and I think that trend continues here as the Rockets get the win and cover at the short line.
