The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Dallas Mavericks at the Intuit Dome on Saturday night.
Dallas Mavericks Betting Preview
The Dallas Mavericks have been in poor form as they’ve lost 12 of their past 15 games and they will be looking to avoid a fourth straight defeat after falling to the Lakers in a 129-119 loss last night. PJ Washington led the team in scoring with 22 points and nine rebounds on nine of 19 shooting, Ryan Nembhard added 17 points, Naji Marshall scored 16 points off the bench while Anthony Davis returned to the lineup to contribute 12 points with five assists. As a team, the Mavericks shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 32 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 40 points in the second quarter to overcome a slow start and take the lead in the fourth quarter, before the Lakers went on a 20-7 run to slip through their fingers in the end.
Los Angeles Clippers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 12 of their last 14 games overall and they will be hoping they can stop a three-game losing streak after falling short to the struggling Grizzlies in a 112-107 loss last night. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 39 points on 15 of 24 shooting, James Harden added 23 points with seven rebounds and 11 assists while Kris Dunn chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 43 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 35 points in the first quarter to lead by as many as 16 points, only to go cold and get outscored by 62-44 in the second half to get run down and fall to 5-14 on the season and 3-6 at home this season.
Dallas v Los Angeles Free Prediction
The Mavericks are still missing Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum and Dereck Lively II, while the Clippers have ruled out Bogdan Bogdanovic, Derrick Jones Jr and Bradley Beal once again. You couldn’t trust either side with any confidence these days given how poorly these teams have handled their respective injuries so far. The Mavericks were more than competitive against the Lakers last night and their two losses prior to last night were by single digits, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Mavericks decided to rest Davis on the second night of a back to back. The Clippers really haven’t been much better, but they still have Harden and Leonard to carry their offense which should be enough against a struggling Mavericks team, but you still have to worry if Leonard decides to sit this one out. This is one of those games where you should check the lineups before tipoff, but as it stands, I prefer a play on the Clippers to get a much needed win at home in this spot.
