Clippers vs Mavericks Pick – NBA Predictions & Odds 2/8/23

The Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers collide at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night.

The Dallas Mavericks have been in decent form as they’ve won three of their past four games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after blowing past the Jazz in a 124-111 road win on Monday. Josh Green led the team with 29 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Jaden Hardy added 29 points off the bench while Dwight Powell chipped in with 12 points and 16 rebounds. As a team, the Mavericks shot 46 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Jazz off to a quick start and trailed by 15 points early on, but they responded with 35 points in the second quarter and another 35 points in the fourth quarter to pull off one of their best wins without the injured Luka Doncic.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Nets in a 124-116 road win on Monday. Paul George led the team with 29 points on 10 of 20 shooting, Kawhi Leonard added 24 points with six assists while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 19 points and 12 rebounds on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Clippers shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 30 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Nets in a close contest, until the final 5:55 where the Clippers closed the game on a 25-9 run to steal the win in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 11-23 ATS in their last 34 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 games following a win. The Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win, 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a losing road record and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.

Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Mavericks are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Mavericks are shorthanded again as they are still missing Luka Doncic and Davis Bertans, but the big news is that Kyrie Irving is expected to make his debut in this one. The Clippers have quietly been one of the form teams in the league right now and they look really tough to beat when George is leading the team in scoring like he did on Monday. I expect Irving to have a big game in his debut, but it won’t be enough as the Clippers are playing too well and they have too many weapons.
