The Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers collide at the Staples Center on Monday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in fine form as they’ve won 13 of their past 16 games, but they will be looking to avoid a third straight defeat after falling short against the Knicks in a 102-96 home loss on Saturday. Thanasis Antetokounmpo led the team with 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Jordan Nwora added 21 points with 10 rebounds while Brook Lopez chipped in with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocks. As a team, the Bucks shot just 41 percent from the field and 14 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hung in the contest right until the final minute, but without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton the Bucks were out of sorts down the stretch and it cost them.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form as they’ve won seven of their past nine games and they will be looking to build on their current five-game win streak after taking down the shorthanded 76ers in a 122-112 home win on Saturday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 28 points on nine of 17 shooting, Paul George added 24 points with nine rebounds and nine assists while Terance Mann chipped in with 23 points on 10 of 12 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 52 percent from the field and 11 of 26 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with 36 points in the second quarter, before leading by as many as 19 points in the third quarter where they scored another 32 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Clippers are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games, 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Los Angeles and the Bucks are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles.
The Bucks will welcome back Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday just in time for a blockbuster matchup against the Clippers who have been on fire lately. You could make any argument for either side here, but the Bucks are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, so I’m taking the Clippers who are currently riding a five-game home win streak.
