The Portland Trail Blazers are certainly in full rebuild mode now that they have moved on from Damian Lillard who has been so good for them for so long. The Trail Blazers lost 15 of their final 17 games of the regular season to finish with a 33-49 record, but with Lillard now gone, the Trail Blazers finally have some healthy players to use. The Trail Blazers re-signed Jerami Grant and Matisse Thybulle and they acquired DeAndre Ayton, Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers are looking to bounce back from a mixed season where they won 44 games in the regular season, only to get bounced out by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs. The biggest obstacle for the Clippers in recent seasons has been their inability to stay healthy, but the news is that Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are both ready to go, which is such a big factor for the oldest team in the league. The Clippers didn’t make any noise in the offseason, but the sky is the limit for them if Leonard can rediscover his form.

The Trail Blazers must be so relieved to finally move on from the Lillard drama as they can now focus on the future with a bunch of new pieces in the lineup. There is a lot to be optimistic about with the Trail Blazers, but I’m more excited about what the Clippers can do with their stars back together. The line is quite hefty for this one, but the Trail Blazers will be going through some growing pains with all the new faces around, so I’ll back the Clippers to kick off their season with a dominant win at home.
