The Utah Jazz pay a visit to the crypto.com Arena to do battle with the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in fine form as they’ve won six of their last nine games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after beating the Trail Blazers in a 118-113 road win on Saturday. Malik Beasley led the team with 29 points on 10 of 18 shooting off the bench, Jordan Clarkson added 28 points while Lauri Markkanen chipped in with 23 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Jazz shot 46 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 38 points in the second quarter to take a seven-point lead into halftime, before they closed the final 1:48 on an 11-5 run to escape with the narrow victory.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form as they’ve won seven of their past 10 games and they will be looking for a third straight victory after routing the Spurs in a 119-97 win on Saturday. Norman Powell led the team with 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting off the bench, Paul George added 21 points on eight of 12 shooting in just 15 minutes of action while Reggie Jackson chipped in with 20 points on eight of 11 shooting. As a team, the Clippers shot 54 percent from the field and a sizzling 21 of 40 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 40 points in the first quarter to open a double-digit lead which ballooned to 30 points in the second half.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games, 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a winning record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Clippers are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the over is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings overall and the Jazz are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles.
The Jazz are going to be shorthanded again as Rudy Gay and Mike Conley are both still out, while the Clippers are keeping an eye on Paul George who is currently listed as questionable for this one. It’s hard to split these two teams who are coming into this game in similar form, but the Clippers have been in a groove lately and they should have enough to cover for the absence of George, at least for one game.
