Los Angeles Lakers vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction 1-7-24 NBA Picks

The Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers do battle at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night. Here’s a Clippers vs Lakers Prediction.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have been on fire as they’ve won 14 of their last 15 games overall and they will be aiming for a sixth straight victory after routing the Pelicans in a 111-95 road win on Friday. Paul George led the team with 24 points on nine of 15 shooting, Kawhi Leonard added 19 points while Ivica Zubac chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 36 from the 3-point line, but this win was set up by their defense as they were always in control after restricting the Pelicans to just 15 points in the second quarter.

Los Angeles Lakers

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been mired in their worst slump of the season as they’ve lost nine of their past 11 games and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting thrashed by the Grizzlies in a 127-113 loss on Friday. LeBron James led the way with 32 points, seven assists and five steals, Anthony Davis added 31 points on 13 of 22 shooting while Austin Reaves chipped in with 19 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the 3-point line as they got off to a quick start to take an early 13-point lead, but they couldn’t hold off the Grizzlies and eventually fell behind in the fourth quarter where they managed just 19 points.

Clippers vs Lakers Prediction

The Lakers haven’t been able to get anything going lately and they could be shorthanded again with D’Angelo Russell listed as questionable, while the Clippers are coming in with a squad and they are currently the hottest team in the league. This is a classic case of two teams headed in opposite directions, so even though we’ll likely see a strong performance from the Lakers given the rivalry, I’m sticking with the Clippers to stay hot with another win and cover at this short line.
