Memphis Grizzlies vs Houston Rockets Prediction 2-14-24 Picks

The Houston Rockets travel to the FedExForum to battle the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. Here’s a Rockets vs Grizzlies Prediction.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have been in a real funk as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall, but they will be feeling better after putting an end to a four-game slide with a much-needed 105-103 win over the shorthanded Knicks on Monday. Dillon Brooks led the team with 23 points, Jabari Smith Jr added 20 points while Alperen Sengun and Aaron Holiday scored 18 points each. As a team, the Rockets shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 26 from the 3-point line as they held the Knicks to just 43 points in the first half to build a 16-point lead, but it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing as the Rockets lost the lead and looked like they were headed to overtime before Aaron Holiday made the game-winning free throws with just 0.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Memphis Grizzlies

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in a major slump as they are now hoping to put a halt to an nine-game losing streak after falling short to the Pelicans in a 96-87 loss on Monday. Jaren Jackson Jr led the team with 22 points, Vince Williams Jr and Luke Kennard scored 12 points each while Yuta Watanabe chipped in with 11 points off the bench. As a team, the Grizzlies shot just 42 percent from the field and 12 of 44 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game to fall behind by as many as 25 points, before they made a bit of a run in the fourth quarter to keep the margin to single digits in the end.

Rockets vs Grizzlies Prediction

The Rockets are still missing some players with Tari Eason, Steven Adams and Fred VanVleet all out, while the Grizzlies are missing a host of players including Ja Morant, Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane. You couldn’t back the Rockets with too much confidence these days, but to be fair, they did play well enough to beat the Knicks on Monday. Compare that to the Grizzlies who looked absolutely out of their depth in their loss to the Pelicans in their last outing. The Grizzlies can hang around if Jaren Jackson Jr has a massive game, but in the end I think the Rockets can get another scrappy win in this spot.
