Memphis Grizzlies vs Portland Trail Blazers 2/16/22 NBA Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center on Wednesday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers look to have moved on from their six-game losing streak as they are now aiming for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Bucks in a 122-107 road win on Monday. Anfernee Simons led the team with 31 points and six assists, Josh Hart added 27 points with seven rebounds and five assists, Jusuf Nurkic scored 23 points with 16 rebounds and four assists while Justise Winslow chipped in with 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 45 percent from the field and 18 of 43 from the 3-point line as they took control of the game with a 40-point explosion in the second quarter to lead by as many as 21 points in this one.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been on a tear as they’ve won nine of their past 10 games overall and they will be looking to build on their current six-game win streak after beating the Pelicans in a 121-109 road win last night. Tyus Jones led the team with 27 points and nine assists, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 23 points, Brandon Clarke scored 18 points on eight of nine shooting off the bench while Steven Adams chipped in with 14 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 50 percent from the field and 10 of 34 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter to take an early 20-point lead which allowed them to cruise in the second half.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 9-19 ATS in their last 28 road games, 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team above .600. The Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest.

Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall.

The Trail Blazers will be missing Joe Ingles, Eric Bledsoe, Dennis Smith Jr and Keon Johnson, while the Grizzlies will again be without Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks. It’s always tough playing the second game of a back to bac set, but the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and I think they can stay hot with another big win at home.
