Miami Heat vs Washington Wizards NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/5/21

The Washington Wizards invade the American Airlines Arena to battle the Miami Heat on Friday night.

The Washington Wizards have endured a rough start to the season as they’ve lost 13 of their first 18 games, but they have won two of their last three and will be looking to build some momentum after taking down the Heat in a 103-100 road win on Wednesday. Bradley Beal led the way with 32 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Deni Avdija added 13 points while Rui Hachimura and Davis Bertans each scored 11 points. As a team, the Wizards shot just 41 percent from the field and 15 of 37 from the 3-point line as they fell behind by 10 points at halftime, before rallying back in the second half where they held the Heat to just 35 points in one of their best defensive efforts of the season;.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in a real slump lately as they’ve lost seven of their past eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back after Wednesday’s narrow loss to the Wizards. Tyler Herro led the team with 20 points on eight of 15 shooting, Jimmy Butler added 19 points with eight rebounds and nine assists while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 17 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Heat shot 43 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 13-point lead in the third quarter after seemingly being in control for most of the game.

Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Heat are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight home games, 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record and 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings overall, the Wizards are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Wizards are 5-0 ATS om the last five meetings in Miami.

The Wizards have endured a horrible start to their season, but they’re starting to find some form now with two wins in their last three games and they’re capable of pulling off another upset after winning on Wednesday. The Heat are starting to get players back healthy, but that hasn’t translated into immediate results as they’ve lost seven of their past eight games. This should be another close one, but the Heat will turn their season around sooner rather than later and I think that starts with a solid win here.
