New Orleans Pelicans vs San Antonio Spurs Prediction 4-5-24 Picks

The San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans meet Friday in NBA action at the Smoothie King Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Spurs vs Pelicans prediction.

San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have been in a real slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after coming up just short to the Nuggets in a 110-105 road defeat on Tuesday. Malaki Branham led the team with 24 points on 10 of 19 shooting, Victor Wembenyama added 23 points with 15 rebounds, eight assists and nine blocks while Tyus Jones chipped in with a triple-double of 10 points with 12 rebounds and 11 assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 40 percent from the field and 13 of 44 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang with the Nuggets for almost the entire game, before the Nuggets closed the final 27.1 seconds on a 5-0 run to slip away in the end. The Spurs will meet the 76ers and Grizzlies after this one.

New Orleans Pelicans

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting beaten by the Magic in a 117-108 loss on Wednesday. CJ McCollum led the team with 36 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Dyson Daniels added 16 points off the bench while Zion Williamson chipped in with 15 points and five assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they did their best to hang with the Magic in a tightly contested first half, before they got blown out by 33-21 in the third quarter to trail by as many as 20 points at one point which proved too much to overcome.

Spurs vs Pelicans prediction

The Spurs are still without Jeremy Sochan, and they have Keldon Johnson listed as questionable for this one, while the Pelicans have ruled out Jose Alverado, and they have Zion Williamson listed as questionable for this one. This is definitely a game where you want to check the lineups before tipoff. The Pelicans are long overdue for a big win and I think they can get it done against this Spurs team who have nothing to play for at this stage of the season.
