New York Knicks vs Orlando Magic NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 11/17/2021

The Orlando Magic travel to Madison Square Garden to do battle with the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.

The Orlando Magic have yet to hit their stride this season as they’ve lost 11 of their first 14 games and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after routing the Hawks in a 129-111 road loss on Monday. Cole Anthony led the team with 29 points and 11 assists, Franz Wagner and Terrence Ross each scored 19 points while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and one block. As a team, the Magic shot 45 percent from the field and 16 of 43 from the 3-point line as they led for most of the first half, before getting blown away in the second half where the Hawks exploded for 69 points. Chemie Okeke finished with just seven points on three of 10 shooting off the bench while Mo Bamba scored just five points on two of 10 shooting.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost five of their past eight games, but they will be eager to build some momentum after taking down the Pacers in a 92-84 home win on Monday. Kemba Walker and Immanuel Quickley each scored 16 points, Derrick Rose added 14 points with seven assists off the bench while Julius Randle chipped in with 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 43 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they trailed for most of the game after scoring just 16 points in the first quarter, before stealing the game in the fourth quarter behind their defense as they held the Pacers to just four points in the final 7:05 to escape with the win.

Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 games overall. The Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win.

Head to head, the under is 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings in New York.

The Magic are still struggling on the offensive end as they’ve yet to find consistent scorers other than Anthony and their defense isn’t look good either as they allowed the Hawks to pour 129 points on them on Monday. The Knicks have been in a funk themselves as they’ve cooled off lately, but they will be feeling so much better after holding the Pacers to just 84 points in their last outing. Jalen Suggs is currently listed as questionable for the Magic, so while the line seems hefty, I’m sticking with the Knicks to get the big win at home.
