Oklahoma City Thunder vs Brooklyn Nets NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 1/29/21

The Brooklyn Nets and the Oklahoma City Thunder duke it out at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Friday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have been in great form lately as they’ve won seven of their past nine games and they will be looking to build on their current three-game win streak after outlasting the Hawks in a thrilling 132-128 overtime road win on Wednesday. Kevin Durant led the team with 32 points on 13 of 26 shooting, James Harden added 31 points, eight rebounds and 15 assists while Kyrie Irving scored 26 points with seven assists on 11 of 17 shooting. As a team, the Nets shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and 11 of 32 from the 3-point line as they edged out the Hawks in overtime after missing on a shot to win it in regulation.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost five of their last eight games, but they will be aiming for a third straight win after taking down the Suns in a 102-97 road win on Wednesday. Al Horford led the team with 21 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 21 points with eight assists, while Luguentz Dort chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Thunder shot 44 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an early 17-point deficit, before pulling away late as they held the Suns scoreless in the final 1:27.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Thunder are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record.

Head to head, the Nets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Oklahoma City.

The Nets are starting to really heat up now and you can see Harden getting more comfortable with his new team with each game which spells trouble for the rest of the league. The Thunder have come to life with a couple of narrow wins over the Trailblazers and Suns, so they’re not without a chance here. The Nets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Oklahoma City and I think they can continue that trend here. Give me the Nets to pull away late for the win and cover here.
