The Memphis Grizzlies pay a visit to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Paycom Center on Sunday night.
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after outlasting the Knicks in a 118-114 home win on Friday. Ja Morant led the team with 37 points and eight assists on 14 of 33 shooting, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ziaire Williams each scored 13 points while Desmond Bane chipped in with 12 points on four of 15 shooting. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 26 from the 3-point line as they withstood a 40-point barrage from the Knicks in the third quarter, before outscoring them by 31-18 in the fourth quarter to escape with the impressive victory.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in rough shape as they’ve lost 12 of their last 15 games overall and they will be hoping to stop a four-game slide after getting blown out by the Timberwolves in a 132-102 road loss on Wednesday. Andrew Wiggins led the team with 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists, Isaiah Roby added 15 points while Darius Bazley chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Thunder shot just 41 percent from the field and 14 of 43 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start and never looked remotely threatening after getting outscored by 74-47 in the first half. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a nightmare of a game as he finished with just eight points on two of 15 shooting.
Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 road games, 20-7 A TS in their last 27 games against a team with a losing record and 35-17 ATS in their last 52 games overall. The Thunder are 1-5-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 23-5 ATS in their last 28 Sunday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on three or more days’ rest.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall, the Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Oklahoma City and the Grizzlies are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Grizzlies could be back at full strength for this one as Dillon Brooks has been upgraded to questionable, while the Thunder are still without a long list of players including Luguentz Dort, Ty Jerome, Mike Muscala and Derrick Favors. The Thunder are short on troops, low on confidence and they’ve lost their last four games by double-digits on each occasion. The Grizzlies are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and I think they can stay hot with another win and cover in this spot.
