The Orlando Magic play host to the Sacramento Kings at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Sunday.
The Sacramento Kings have lost three of their last four and they will be hoping to snap out of their funk after falling to the Spurs in a 129-120 loss on Friday night. De’Aaron Fox led the team with 39 points and six assists on 17 of 33 shooting, Bogdan Bogdanovic drained six 3-pointers on his way to 24 points while Nemanja Bjelica chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Kings shot 48 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an early double digit deficit to take a lead into halftime, before going cold in the second half where they allowed the Spurs to pour in 65 points. Buddy Hield had himself a night to forget as he finished with just six points on two of 13 shooting off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after blowing past the shorthanded Nets in a 128-118 win on Friday night. Evan Fournier led the team with 24 points and five assists, Nikola Vucevic added 22 points with seven rebounds and five assists while Jonathan Isaac chipped in with 16 points on six of seven shooting off the bench. As a team, the Magic shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they dominated the game and led by as many as 30 points before resting their starters early.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games as an underdog, 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight Sunday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss. The Magic are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven Sunday games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings, the Kings are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and the Kings are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings in Orlando.
The Kings will be disappointed with how they crumbled against the shorthanded Spurs on Friday, but it was great to see Fox lead the way with 39 points. The Magic are coming into this one full of confidence after destroying the Nets in their last time out and I’m tempted to stick with them, but I expect Hield to bounce back with a better performance as the Kings get the much-needed victory here.
