The Phoenix Suns play host to the Chicago Bulls at the Footprint Center on Friday night.
The Chicago Bulls have been in a major slump as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting stomped by the Jazz in a 125-110 road loss on Wednesday. Zach LaVine led the team with 33 points and five assists, DeMar DeRozan added 25 points with seven assists while Ayo Dosunmu chipped in with 15 points and six assists. As a team, the Bulls shot just 47 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Jazz in a tightly contested first half, before getting completely run off the floor in the second half where they allowed 71 points as they had no answer for the Jazz’ combination of Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in great shape as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games overall and they will be aiming for a fourth straight win after routing the Rockets in a 129-112 road win on Wednesday. Devin Booker led the team with 36 points on 15 of 24 shooting, Mikal Bridges added 26 points, DeAndre Ayton scored 23 points while Torrey Craig chipped in with 21 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Suns shot a sizzling 55 percent from the field and 13 of 33 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Rockets in a tight first half, before they broke loose with 70 points in the second half to make it look easy in the end despite getting just 17 points from their bench.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600, 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 1-8 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Suns are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Bulls are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Phoenix.
The Bulls will again be without Patrick Williams and Lonzo Ball, but Zach LaVine is listed as probable for this one, while the Suns are still without Chris Paul and Cameron Johnson, while Jae Crowder is listed as questionable. I’m tempted to take the Bulls with the points, but they are only 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games, so I’ll stick with the more consistent Suns to get the job done at home.
