The Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns duke it out t at the Footprint Center on Saturday night.
The Orlando Magic have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost three of their past four games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Jazz in a 114-99 road loss last night. Wendell Carter Jr. led the team with 22 points and nine rebounds, Cole Anthony added 18 points with six rebounds and five assists while Mo Bamba chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Magic shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 41 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and had to work hard to cut an early 18-point deficit down to just two points, only to get blown out in the fourth quarter by 37-25.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been on fire for a while now as they’ve won 15 of their past 16 games and they will be aiming for a fifth straight victory after making light work of the Bucks in a 131-107 home win on Thursday. DeAndre Ayton led the team with 27 points on 12 of 14 shooting, Mikal Bridges added 18 points, Chris Paul tallied 17 points with 19 assists while Devin Booker chipped in with 17 points and seven assists. As a team, the Suns shot 56 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the 3-point line as they outscored the Bucks by 33-22 in the second quarter to take control of the game and they never took their foot off the gas to finish in a blowout.
Looking at the betting trends, the Magic are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games, 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600 and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. The Suns are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team below .400.
Head to head, the under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Phoenix and the Magic are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Phoenix.
The Magic were building a bit of momentum before cooling off with three losses in their last four and they will be low on confidence after getting routed by the Jazz last night. The Suns are coming into this game with plenty of momentum and they just made light work of the red-hot Bucks in their last outing. The Magic are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Phoenix, but playing on zero days’ rest, I don’t think they have enough to hang in this contest. Give me the Suns to stay hot with another big win and cover here.
