The Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers meet Monday in NBA action at the Moda Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Boston Celtics vs Portland Trail Blazers prediction.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 12 of their last 14 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Suns in a 117-107 road win on Saturday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 29 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Jaylen Brown added 27 points while Jrue Holiday chipped in with 15 points and six assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 48 percent from the field and 15 of 39 from the 3-point line as they got off to a decent start and built an early 15-point lead, but the game wasn’t won until early in the fourth quarter where the Celtics went on a final push to take another 15-point lead after the Suns got within three points.

Portland Trail Blazers

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last six games overall and they will be looking to build some momentum after outlasting the Raptors in a 128-118 overtime win on Saturday. Deandre Ayton led the team with 30 points and 19 rebounds on 14 of 25 shooting, Dalano Banton added 25 points with seven rebounds and four assists while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 23 points and seven assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 47 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they squandered a 21-point lead, but they made up for it in overtime where they held the Raptors to just five points to escape with the win at home.

Boston Celtics vs Portland Trail Blazers prediction

The Celtics are still shorthanded with Kristaps Porzingis ruled out along and they have Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown all listed as questionable, while the Trail Blazers are still missing almost their entire team. This is definitely a game where you want to check the lineups before tipoff, but assuming that the Celtics are severely shorthanded, I am going with the Trail Blazers to hang around and maybe even pull off the minor upset at home.
