The Brooklyn Nets and the Portland Trail Blazers collide at the Moda Center on Monday night.

The Brooklyn Nets have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost four of their past six games, but they will be hoping to stay hot after outlasting the Spurs in a 121-119 overtime home win last night. Kevin Durant led the team with 28 points and six assists, James Harden added 26 points with seven rebounds and 12 assists, while Nic Claxton chipped in with 16 points and 14 rebounds. As a team, the Nets shot 48 percent from the field and eight of 28 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 14-point lead in the third quarter, before coming good in the overtime period where they escaped on a clutch shot from Cam Thomas with just 1.7 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their past eight games overall, but they will be hoping to build some momentum after making light work of the Kings in a 103-88 home win last night. Anfernee Simons drained seven 3-pointers to lead the team with 31 points and six assists, Jusuf Nurkic added 14 points with 16 rebounds and nine assists while Ben McLemore and Nassir Little each scored 13 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 42 percent from the field and 17 of 40 from the 3-point line, but this win was about their defense as they held the Kings to just 40 points in the first half to lead by as many as 20 points, which allowed them to cruise in the second half.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team below .400 and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. The Trail Blazers are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the Nets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Nets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Portland.

The Nets could be shorthanded once again as LaMarcus Aldridge is currently listed as day to day, while the Trail Blazers are again without Norman Powell and Damian Lillard. The Nets haven’t been at their best lately, but they will take plenty of confidence from their hard-fought overtime win over the Spurs last night and they certainly have the edge in talent on their roster with the Trail Blazers seriously depleted now. The Trail Blazers are only 2-10 ATS in their last 12 home games and I think that trend continues as the Nets win big in this spot.
