Portland Trail Blazers vs Detroit Pistons Prediction 2-8-24 Picks

The Portland Trail Blazers play host to the Detroit Pistons at the Moda Center on Thursday night. Here’s a Trail Blazers vs Pistons Prediction.

Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have been in a horrible slump as they’ve lost 14 of their last 17 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting routed by the Magic in a 111-99 loss on Sunday. Jaden Ivey led the team with 18 points, Cade Cunningham added 18 points with seven assists, Ausar Thompson scored 17 points while Jalen Duren chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 45 percent from the field and eight of 31 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang with the Magic in a close contest, until the fourth quarter where the Magic closed the final 7:43 on a 18-9 run.

Portland Trail Blazers

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in a real funk as they’ve lost of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting beaten by the Nuggets in a 112-103 road loss on Sunday. Deandre Ayton led the team with 27 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Anfernee Simons added 26 points with nine assists while Scoot Henderson chipped in with 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 37 points in the first quarter to take an early 14-point lead, but they couldn’t maintain that pace and fell short in the second half where they scored just 40 points to allow the Nuggets to pull away late.

Trail Blazers vs Pistons Prediction

The Pistons are still shourthanded with Cade Cunningham and Bojan Bogdanovic both listed on the injury report, while the Trail Blazers are keeping their eyes on Deandre Ayton and Scoot Henderson who are both quetsionable for this one. You couldn’t back either side with much confidence these days, but there is just a little more to like about the Trail Blazers who were good enough to hang with the Nuggets until late in the fourth quarter on Sunday. This is a game I’d rather stay away from, but if I had to choose, I’d side with the Trail Blazers to get the win and cover at home.
