Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors Prediction 12-17-23 NBA Picks

The Golden State Warriors pay a visit to the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center on Sunday night. Here’s a Warriors vs Trail Blazers prediction.

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last six games overall, but they will be hoping to build some momentum after sneaking past the in-form Nets in a 124-120 home win last night. Stephen Curry broke out of his minor slump to lead the way with 37 points on 14 of 22 shooting, Klay Thompson added 24 points while Brandin Podziemski chipped in with 19 points and five assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 48 percent from the field and 17 of 32 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running with 70 points in the first half to build an 18-point lead, but they weren’t able to put away the Nets, until midway through the fourth quarter where they went on a crucial 8-0 run to start to pull away and escape with the much-needed victory.

Portland Trail Blazers

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in a slump as they are now looking to put an end to a six-game losing streak after last night’s 131-120 loss to the shorthanded Mavericks. Anfernee Simons led the team with 33 points, eight rebounds and six assists on 13 of 22 shooting, Jerami Grant added 27 points on 12 of 20 shooting while Scoot Henderson chipped in with 13 points off the bench. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 50 percent from the field and just seven of 32 from the 3-point line, but they were always fighting an uphill battle after leaking 74 points in the first half. The Trail Blazers just had no answer for the Mavericks’ Luka Doncic who racked up a triple-double of 40 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists. The Blazers are 6-18 and have the second-worst record in the West after the San Antonio Spurs (4-20).

Warriors vs Trail Blazers prediction

The Warriors needed a win to get their season back on track after hitting another speed bump in their season and they got just that with a gritty win over the Nets last night. Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers have continued their downward spiral as they are now hoping to avoid a seventh straight defeat after getting routed by the Mavericks last night. The line has this being a relatively close contest, but while the Warriors are still a long way from their best basketball, they are still more than good enough to blow past this slumping Trail Blazers team. Give me the Warriors at the short line.
