Portland Trail Blazers vs Houston Rockets Prediction 4-12-24 Picks

The Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers meet Friday in NBA action at the Moda Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Rockets vs Trail Blazers prediction.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have been in rough shape as they’ve lost six of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping for a better performance after coming up just short to the slumping Jazz in a 124-121 road defeat last night. Fred VanVleet led the team with 42 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Cam Whitmore added 18 points off the bench while Ausar Thompson chipped in with 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 42 percent from the field and an efficient 21 of 47 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 38 points in the first quarter, but they couldn’t hold onto an early lead and allowed the Jazz to slip away in a close finish.

Portland Trail Blazers

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 13 of their last 15 games overall an they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after getting beaten by the Warriors in a 100-92 loss last night. Deandre Ayton led the team with 25 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, Scoot Henderson added 18 points with 12 assists while Jabari Walker chipped in with 17 points and 16 rebounds. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot just 36 percent from the field and eight of 34 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang tough with the Warriors until the fourth quarter where they managed just 18 points to allow the Warriors off the hook.

Rockets vs Trail Blazers prediction

The Rockets are still missing Alperen Sengun and Jae’Sean Tate, while the Trail Blazers are still missing Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Shaedon Sharpe to name a few. The Rockets will be really disappointed with last night’s defeat to the Jazz, but I think they can bounce back against this severely depleted Trail Blazers squad, who are also playing their second game of a back to back set. The line is modest for this matchup, so I am comfortable taking the Rockets to get the win and cover on the road.
