The Sacramento Kings play host to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Golden 1 Center on Monday night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost five of their past seven games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after last night’s 96-82 road loss to the Warriors. Lamar Stevens led the team with 17 points on eight of 11 shooting, Rajon Rondo added 15 points and five assists off the bench while Jarrett Allen chipped in with 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 42 percent from the field and seven of 24 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Warriors in the first half, before getting completely blown out in the third quarter by 28-14 to trail by as many as 24 points. Kevin Love had a night to forget as he scored just two points on one of seven shooting while Cedi Osman scored just four points on one of six shooting.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in a real slump lately as they’ve lost eight of their past 11 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a four-game slide after getting routed by the Trail Blazers in a 103-88 road loss last night. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with 17 points and nine assists, Alex Len added 16 points with 10 rebounds while De’Aaron Fox chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Kings shot 38 percent from the field and seven of 31 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and fell behind by 13 points at halftime and things only got worse in the second half where the deficit ballooned to 20 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Cavaliers are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games, 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record and 26-10-1 ATS in their last 37 games overall. The Kings are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest, 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Cavaliers are 2-6 ATS in the last eight meetings overall.
The Cavaliers have really cooled off lately and their confidence took a hit after last night’s loss to the Warriors, while the Kings are hoping for a better showing after getting embarrassed by the depleted Trail Blazers last night. The Cavaliers are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games, but they’re still missing three key players including Collin Sexton, Ricky Rubio and Isaac Okoro, so it’s hard to know who is going to line up on a nightly basis. You couldn’t bet your money on either team with much confidence, but I’m leaning towards the Cavaliers to bounce back into form with a much-needed win in this spot.
