San Antonio Spurs vs Boston Celtics Prediction 12-31-23 NBA Picks

The Boston Celtics and the San Antonio Spurs duke it out at the AT&T Center on Sunday night. Here’s a Celtics vs Spurs Prediction.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been in great form as they’ve won 10 of their last 11 games overall and they will be eager to build on their current five-game win streak after sneaking past the Raptors in a 120-118 win on Friday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 31 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Derrick White added 21 points and seven assists while Luke Kornet chipped in with 20 points on nine of 11 shooting. As a team, the Celtics shot 48 percent from the field and 17 of 39 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after squandering a 20-point lead before they closed the final 2:18 on a 10-5 run to escape with the narrow win to improve to a perfect 16-0 at home this season.

San Antonio Spurs

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in a terrible slump as they’ve lost 24 of their last 26 games overall and they will be hoping for any win they can get after falling short to the Trail Blazers in a 134-128 road loss on Friday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 29 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Devin Vassell added 22 points with five assists while Doug McDermott chipped in with 18 points on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Spurs shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line, but they got scorched early and just could never recover after allowing 42 points in the second quarter to trail by as many as 26 points before they finished with a late flurry to keep the final scores respectable. The Spurs will meet the Grizzlies after this one.

Celtics vs Spurs Prediction

The Celtics could be a little shorthanded here with Jrue Holiday listed as questionable, while the Spurs are keeping an eye on Zach Collins who is questionable for this one. The Celtics come into this one probably the hottest team in the league right now, while the Spurs are the coldest team in the league now that the Pistons have snapped their horrific losing streak. The line is pretty hefty for this one, but the Spurs have lost 13 of their 15 home games so far and seven of their last eight defeats have been by double digits, so I’ll back the Celtics to stay hot with another big win against this slumping Spurs outfit.
