The Charlotte Hornets and the San Antonio Spurs collide at the AT&T Center on Wednesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their past eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Mavericks in a 120-96 road loss on Monday. Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr. each scored 20 points, Gordon Hayward added 17 points with six rebounds and six assists while James Bouknight chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Hornets shot just 39 percent from the field and 13 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled from the start, falling behind by 27 points at halftime as they allowed the Doncic-less Mavericks drain a season-high 19 3-pointers. Miles Bridges has a been a rock for the Hornets this season, but he had a quiet night of just seven points on two of 11 shooting.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in great form as they’ve won six of their past nine games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Pelicans in a 112-97 home win on Sunday. Jakob Poeltl scored 24 points and 12 rebounds on 10 of 12 shooting, Derrick White tallied 24 points with eight rebounds, nine assists and four steals while Keldon Johnson chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 49 percent from the field and seven of 25 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Pelicans in a tight contest, until the fourth quarter where they restricted the Pelicans to just 15 points to win comfortably in the end. Dejounte Murray tallied yet another triple-double as he scored 10 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games, 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Spurs are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 7-1 ATS in their last eight games playing on two days’ rest and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall and the Hornets are 4-10 ATS in the last 14 meetings in San Antonio.

The Hornets haven’t been able to get anything going since LaMelo Ball went down and he has already been ruled out for this one. The Spurs have been playing some of their best basketball of the season over their past nine games, so they are coming into this game with plenty of momentum and they will be well-rested as they haven’t played since Sunday. This could be a close one, but the Hornets are only 4-10 ATS in the last 14 meetings in San Antonio, so I’m sticking with the Spurs at the short line in this spot.
