The San Antonio Spurs play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the AT&T Center on Friday night. Here’s a Spurs vs Lakers prediction.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have been in fine form with five wins in their last six outings and they will be eager to keep it going after sneaking past the struggling Spurs in a 122-119 road win on Wednesday. Anthony Davis led the team with 37 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, Taurean Prince added 17 points with five assists while Austin Reaves chipped in with 15 points and eight assists off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and 14 of 35 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 34 points in the first quarter to take the early lead which grew to 20 points before the Spurs rallied to cut the lead to just one point with 21.2 seconds remaining.

San Antonio Spurs
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have been in horrible form as they are hoping to snap an 18-game losing streak after coming up painfully short to the Lakers on Wednesday. Victor Wembenyama led the team with 30 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks, Keldon Johnson added 28 points with eight assists while Malaki Branham chipped in with 19 points on eight of 13 shooting. As a team, the Spurs shot 46 percent from the field and 16 of 37 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Lakers off to a quick start and couldn’t make any inroads until the fourth quarter where they exploded for 45 points to come up just short in the end. The Spurs (3-20) have the worst record in the West, but at least they are better than the Detroit Pistons (2-22).
San Antonio Spurs Team Facts
- The Spurs have lost each of their last 18 games.
- The Spurs have covered the spread in four of their last five home games against Western Conference opponents that held a winning record.
- Each of the Spurs’ last nine Friday home games have gone OVER the total points line.
Spurs vs Lakers prediction
The Lakers could again be shorthanded with LeBron James, Taurean Prince and Anthony Davis all listed as questionable for this one, while the Spurs are still missing Charles Bassey. The Lakers were able to get the job done without James running the offense on Wednesday, but it was a close call and it might be tough to replicate that effort if Davis doesn’t suit up. This is definitely a game where you want to check the lineups before tipoff, but for now, I’m sticking with the Lakers.
